Ousted by our owners

After a year living with Jarad and James in probably one of the best units of any of my friends (except maybe James and Sophie's), we've been served with an eviction notice. That's right, its over. We have 60 days left.

Fortunately the eviction isn't because we poured fanta all over the carpet or decided to draw all over the walls with texta. We are being given the notice because our lease is expiring in a week and a bit, and the owner's daughter is apparently coming back from overseas and is going to move in.

So now the hard work of inspections and moving and house warming parties begins.

Jarad has seen a nice place already, and we went for a nice walk tonight to have a look at it and some of the real estate agents. It was good to get out and reminisce about good times and the work that now has to be done.

I doubt we'll find a place as good as this one. Maybe if it has a gas stove, dish washer, 2 toilets and builtins in every room it'll come close.

Well, good luck with the hunt. Your place, from what I saw of it, was very nice indeed. Perhaps you need to move further north, to where the rain comes and the sun shines :p

Oi! There is nothing wrong

Oi! There is nothing wrong with the South. Nothing at all.

And Caleb, what about Lang Street. Surely that was the nicest/cheapest free-standing villa with garage and water tank? But in terms of apartments, yes yours was definately up there.

Ok now to the commiserations. Yeah that sucks that you have to move out. I guess you are really lucky that they didn't just give you two weeks notice before the lease ran out coz that would mean you had a week to find a place. Hopefully your searches come up trumps soon.

Stay Cool

Lang street was very good.

Lang street was very good. In fact, you guys had an excellent deal going on there (but you unfortunately met a similar demise). That place was huge.

After receiving the red letter from the agent (printed on real red paper), what is really confusing is that the 60 days notice we've been given is actually because they had no reason to break the active lease agreement. But if they'd waited 2 weeks, our lease would have expired and they would've only needed to give us 14 days.

Yes Lang street was

Yes Lang street was excellent. Did we mention the backdeck, landscaped courtyard, enourmous garage and the fact that we had the best neighbours ever who never parked us in??

They may not have wated you to move out in four weeks time from the date of the letter as the daughter may not have been coming back for 60 days, in which case they would want to get as much money from you as possible.

Hope you guys found something really good soon!!

Oh sorry Grenda, you did

Oh sorry Grenda, you did mention the garage. That's cool, I will mention something else - the polished floorboards, beautiful kitchen, 3 bedrooms ... ahh. Love that place.
